Time flies, doesn't it?

This week our plan calls for 4 miles, 8 miles, 4 miles, and then 17 miles.

Like farms are a good mile or half mile off the "main" gravel road.)

My leg is back to hurting, badly.  I tried to nap in the early afternoon and it just throbbed and throbbed.  Anytime I'm in the car, I jack up the heated seats to relieve the burning pain in my rear-end.

Where is this crazy desire to run, and run, and run coming from?  I know I'm going to burn out before the marathon if I refuse to adhere to the program.  Once September hits, I know I'll be struggling with exhaustion.  That ALWAYS happens when I train for Marine Corps.

This was quite random, but I spent yesterday afternoon (alongside my family) with the man who placed second in the National Marathon.  Yes, that is quite random, isn't it?  And, yes! It was a great eighteen.  The first two hours flew by somehow, and the last hour felt a little long.  (Don't know why that is...)  I couldn't be happier, though.  My body is holding up really well, and my mind is even stronger.  The leg/back/foot/heel issues have yet to resurface, thank goodness.  I'm so grateful to be out there, logging these really long miles again.

This week the long run was supposed to be about five miles. I used to do this pre-kids, keep a log of my runs, but I seem to have lost the motivation somewhere along the line.  Maybe this will keep me motivated for these half marathons that I have registered for.  The first one is only six weeks away and my longest run is only 8.5 miles! Initially, I tried a 60 minute heart rate workout.  The settings were not correct, with my weight set at 160 pounds and the target heart rate set at 157.  Both settings were a little off, which made the workout way too intense for me.  The incline was set at 15, and the pace was set at an 11 minute/mile run.
