After grumbling about needing a new pair of running shoes for about a month, I decided to take the plunge and try
a new brand and
a new size. My toenails are still recovering from the marathon, so I figure it is worth trying a half size larger to protect the new nails coming in. I used to run in Asics, so I figured I'd switch back to the old Gel's. The shoe I bought is called the Asics Gel Kayano, and it's heavenly! Heavenly, heavenly, heavenly. It's a little pricey, but it seems to be worth the extra fifty bucks that I was spending. My heel and fore-foot feel so cushioned and supported. It's fabulous to have happy feet after a run!
I didn't run today. It's too icy and I don't feel well. I'd really like to get out tomorrow and try to do a longer run to get ready for this half coming up. Running for an hour half tomorrow would make me very happy. Maybe my cold will go away over night, I wish!
I actually did, in fact, find my running calendar for January. At the end of the month, I figured I ran approximately 114 miles. Pretty good. I don't think I have gotten in the 100's in the past two months, so I was pleased. Maybe this month I'll shoot for 125 miles, provided this cold goes away. Yuck.

3 words: YOU ARE AMAZING!

My hubby runs and swears by the Asics. These are the ONLY tennis shoes he wears. Therefore, I know what your "plunge" is!
You are something. I wish I had half of your energy!
